A Training Day for Police Officers to discuss the Ins and Outs of Domestic Violence
When: Thursday June 2, 2011 at 9am – 5pm
Where: Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department 2900 University Pkwy. NE Lawrenceville, GA 30043
Cost: $25, but space is limited and lunch will be provided
Credits: 8 POST credits are available for this training.
Participants will:

Discuss Domestic Violence using the Barriers Model presented by Sabrina Davis from PADV

Hear about the victim advocacy process and the TPO process presented by Francis Smith from PADV

Learn tips on how to respond to a domestic violence call including interviewing as well as learn the evidence needed to prosecute a case presented by Deputy Lucas Catoggio from the police department and Jennifer Hope from Atlanta Family Counseling Center.

Discuss different cultural issues included LGBTQQI presented by Amita Rao from RAKSHA, Jeanette Soto from PADV and TJ Alvarado from Blaze 4 Life

Have lots of time to ask questions and share experiences!
